The dates of our 2 training runs have been announced.  Come check out the course at  Seminole Valley (we will meet near the park pavilion) on either of the following dates:

• Sunday at 4pm - September 27th and October 18th

We are almost 3 months from race day!  Remember that early registration ends on August 1st. Event updates include the following;

• The Achilles Heel has been officially acknowledged by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation (retroactive to date of incorporation - 5/6/08).
• Event photography will be provided this year by Jolesch photography. Images will be available to view and purchase at www.jolesch.com within one week after the race.
• Aspen Athletic Club has provided a 5K/15K training plan and will be joining us during our training runs and on race day to help with stretching and any of your other training needs (see Race Timeline for details).

Registration is now open!  Take advantage of the early registration discounts. In addition, early registration will guarantee you a t-shirt and will allow your name to be placed on our custom race bibs.

Muddy Monster 2009

We are excited to be back for our 3rd annual event in 2009!  As with last year, we continue to take feedback from participants, support, and sponsors to make positive improvements and build upon the success from each year. Some highlights for 2009 include;

• The event is moving back to the original location of Seminole Valley.  Noelridge Park will be utilized as an alternative site in the case of any stemming issues within the park from the ‘08 floods.
• The race start/finish will be within the park itself but Ushers Ferry will continue to be part of the course.
• Packet pick-up will once again be offered the night before the event.  This was very positive last year and we encourage everyone to take advantage of it.
• Two training runs will be available - we had a great turn out last year and had fun! Check back for more updates over the summer.
• Muddy Mile and Costume awards will be presented prior to the start of the 15K / 5K.
• A no t-shirt registration option will be provided at a discount.
• Raffle prizes will be awarded as door prizes and will be available at the finish line - everyone is eligible to win.
• The Achilles Heel is proud to be partnering with Variety - proceeds from the event will be utilized for a local program that will positively benefit youth in the community. In addition, The Achilles Heel has filed for 501(c)(3) status and any contributions will be retroactively tax deductible.  So please consider donating $50 or more and receive a free registration!
